Let's Talk About Books, Movies, TV & Music

My favourite books ... your favourite books!
What movies have I watched lately ... do you want to share yours?
Recent or old TV programs ... hmm Seinfeld, Sex in the City, Desperate Housewives, Mr. Bean, The Office, Coupling, Will & Grace, Lost, OC, Survivor (ok we are a bit behind here in EU Land so forgive me if I have not listed the latest or greatest - counting on you to update me) .
Music to suit my mood or life phase - who else associates a song with a certain period in our lives or a fantastic (or sad) memory? Music is 1 of the simple joys in life.

Comedy: my personal #1, all time favourite in books, movies, & television: laughter keeps us young & makes us feel EXCELLENT! Without laughter, where would we be?

Girlie, lubbey-dubbey films: otherwise known as "chick flicks". Also, it has been my experience that these are not usually fully appreciated by the significant others. Watching one of these movies together will only happen if a bribe or prize of some kind is offered. Bridget Jones Diary, a prime example, despite the fact that it is funny as HELL!

Drama: never-ending drama, for those who miss it in their every day life - as if that is possible! We know how this works: the sister did something to the neighbour's, cousin's, ex-wive's, best friend & despite the plotting mother-in-law, they beat the odds & scheming and get engaged only to discovery that the fiance is actually a long lost sister that got switched in the hospital nursery. Yep, too many Melrose Place type programs on my agenda.

Thriller: who did it - hu hu huuuuuuuuuuuuu & WHY? Dumb _ _ _ had to know they'd get caught eventually. Sometimes it is sooooo obvious who the WHO is, while other times it is a TOTAL surprise. Take the Da Vinci Code - they kept us guessing till the very ... very ... super ... duper ... last chapter ... last page .. last word ... THE END. AWESOME, I say!

Musical: Grease, Flashdance, Footloose, Dance with Me, (I am going back in time ... now to the present) Evita, Chicago & Les Miserable, Rent & Moulin Rouge - both movies & theatre and in some cases, both. We ALL know that I am a big fan of Grease!

Suspense or Horror: simply cannot cope with the heart-stopping, mild-to-medium coronary-inducing music when the actor/ess open the bloody door and ... nothing happens. This results in me hiding behind the pillow while wetting my pants each & every freeeeeckin' time. It's all about the darn spooky MUSIC that indictates that something disturbing is due to happen. But (deep breath now) when it DOESN'T ... then it DOES when it SHOULDN'T, like when you least expect it - WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?!?!?! Ok, so what is the first clue that this is NOT my favourite choice for entertainment? Since Arnie thoroughly enjoys these films, I out of deep, devoted love, try my ultimate best to enjoy myself, with the assistance of many glasses of alcohol-filled drinks for my nnnnnerves.

Music: last but not least, MUSIC. On my pink iPod, you will find everything except grunge, heavy medal, heavy rap/hip-hop or anything too super weird and obnoxious - but I suppose the official definition of "obnoxious" is subjective. My collection consists of dance, trance, 70s, 80s, 90s, disco classics, country (from my roots), rock & roll both golden oldies & my generation (which shall remain unspecified), new age, mediation & some yoga nitra stuff.
